What's new in v2.9

John Barker

Prompter sync between users

We’ve added a new feature to our Teleprompter which allows all users to stay in sync with each other - from anywhere in the world.

How it works

When prompter viewers choose to “Sync with others” - from the prompter controls - any changes they make will update on other viewers window. This means:

  • Play/Pause is triggered on all devices.
  • Settings like text size, margin, indicator position are kept in sync.
  • Jumping to a cue triggers the same scroll on other devices.

Note: If a user decides to manually scroll on their own window we don’t currently keep track of that progress update. Best to stick with actual clickable options in the user interface to ensure progress is synced between users.

Public API updates

We’ve add lots more improvements to our Public API. These updates include:

  • Jump to a specific cue: Jump to any cue on your rundown by triggering this API call.
  • Get cell content for cues: Retrieve all cells for a given cue or column for use in an external system.
  • Export rundown CSV: Generate a full CSV export of your rundown. Great for use in external tools that can poll CSV documents.

Using these new endpoints

We’ve written an extensive guide to help walk through some of these new features and how to use them in your productions - Guide: Populating vMix graphics with rundown data.

Copy Cue and Column IDs

To enable many of these new API features, we have added a API → Copy ID submenu to all cues and columns in a rundown.

And more…

  • Fixed an issue for Group cue calculations ensuring they account for multi-day rundowns.
  • Changed @Mention titles are now properly updated on PDF/CSV exports.
  • All cells of a duplicated cue are now editable without refreshing the browser.
  • Visual updates to @Mentions to ensure consistency.

Thanks a bunch for using Rundown Studio. Stay up to date with development with our email newsletter.
